Research Metrics

Elsevier’s SciVal provides access to the research performance of 4,600 research institutions and 220 countries worldwide, allowing researchers to benchmark performance against other institutions or groups of researchers. This can help to highlight the impact of research for assessment and funding purposes, assess the performance of researchers and groups relative to peers, and track collaboration patterns and seek out new partners for research projects.

SciVal access is available on-campus at both UBC Okanagan and UBC Vancouver.

Research Map

Working directly with the Office of Research Services (ORS) at UBC Okanagan campus, programmers and designers from the Institute for Community Engaged Research (formerly the Centre for Social, Spatial and Economic Justice) have co-developed and deployed a web-based mapping portal.

This portal enables UBCO researchers to post geographical markers on an interactive map. These markers contain information about research being conducted by campus-based faculty members, graduate and undergraduate students locally, nationally and internationally. The project website is now functional and beginning to be populated with data.

Put your research on the map!
